The Engineer II, applies concepts and techniques to plan projects, develops installation drawings and contributes to achieve project milestones. The Engineer II works closely with the various trades (Electrical, Power, Signal, civil, mechanical) while also getting input from Cost Managers & Project Management to determine efficient and cost-effective solutions.  Engineers follow the designs from beginning to end; survey, drafting, installation drawings, manufacturing, installation, final inspection and acceptance. In addition, Engineers manage sub-contractor coordination and engineering.  All steps are done while integrating Multidisciplinary Engineering Design and promoting individual learning to achieve desired solutions. 


Engineer II works on challenging projects with greater autonomy while supporting and steering level one Engineer’s as they work to bring jobs to fruition. The Engineer II will work on many challenging assignments and projects while assisting the level III Engineer.


  • Perform inspections and testing as required to ensure adherence to the contract document and to achieve highest quality construction.
  • Work to ensure construction progresses as scheduled, contract requirements are adhered to, and work is performed in a safe manner. 
  • Perform measurements to establish the quantities of completed work for both payment purposes as well as cost reporting.
  • Prepare required reports and documentation.
  • Lead Junior Engineers and have the ability to make field changes of medium complexity.
  • Coordinate tasks to be completed by project staff.
  • Work on 1-3 systems, producing installation drawings.
  • Plan projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented in the project schedule.
  • Train his/her work team and effectively lead work teams within the project.
  • Give effective presentations to general audiences and write convincing proposals and reports with all the necessary backup material for the client.
  • Perform other duties as required.


  • Approximately 3-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies: ability to design & layout equipment in the field independently
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Competencies in MS Office, Excel.
  • Excellent problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and provide feedback in a helpful manner.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred but not required) and/or equivalent combination of industry experience.
